Rafah Crossing Operates From Both Sides; First Group of Palestinians Return to Gaza

The Rafah crossing officially resumed operations on Monday, according to reports from the Extra News channel. The first group of Palestinians returning from Egypt arrived in the Gaza Strip following the official reopening of the Palestinian side.

This initial group primarily consisted of women, children, and the elderly. The Egyptian Red Crescent is facilitating the reception of the returning Palestinians in Gaza, according to the channel. A source told Al-Qahera News Channel that 50 individuals departed Egypt for the Gaza Strip, while another 50 arrived from Gaza on the first day of the Rafah crossing operation.

Egyptian hospitals are currently preparing to receive Palestinian patients requiring urgent medical treatment. Reports indicate that four major facilities in the North Sinai Governorate, Nakhl, Bir al-Abd, Sheikh Zuweid, and Arish General Hospital, are on high alert to admit the injured and ill. Egypt has received more than 8,000 wounded and injured Palestinians during previous ceasefires, and has performed more than 5,160 surgeries in Egyptian hospitals for injured Palestinians since the start of the crisis.
