Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmed Al-Musliyar praised the leading role of Al-Azhar Academy in serving Islamic outreach and disseminating the values of moderation and tolerance.
He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, for his continuous support and sponsorship of programs for training preachers, and his commitment to preparing a conscious generation capable of conveying Islam’s tolerant message to all parts of the world.
During his reception of the Indian imams and preachers returning to their country after completing the “Preparing the Contemporary Preacher” course in Egypt, the Grand Mufti of India affirmed that the Azhar Academy’s programs and intensive training activities represent a distinguished model for preparing preachers, combining tradition and modernity. This model equips them to address various contemporary issues, thereby enhancing their ability to spread the tolerant values of Islam and confront extremist ideology.
He pointed out that these blessed efforts embody Al-Azhar’s global mission and its historical role in disseminating the true teachings of Islam and establishing the principles of tolerance and coexistence among peoples. Grand Mufti of India affirmed that Al-Azhar will remain a major beacon of knowledge and a firmly established reference point for Muslims across the globe.
He also expressed his appreciation to Dr. Hassan Al-Saghir, President of the Academy, praising his pioneering role in developing training programs and overseeing a comprehensive academic system that contributes to building a sound and effective approach to Islamic outreach. At the conclusion of the meeting, the imams and preachers participating in the training expressed their profound happiness with this distinguished academic experience.
They affirmed that their enrollment in the programs of the Al-Azhar Global Academy has significantly contributed to developing their outreach skills and enhancing their ability to communicate and effectively disseminate the message of moderate Islam within their communities.
