The Egyptian Red Crescent launched the 79th “Zad Al-Ezzah – From Egypt to Gaza” convoy on Monday, transporting a new batch of urgent humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip. The initiative comes as part of Egypt’s ongoing role as the national mechanism responsible for coordinating and channeling aid to the territory.
On its 79th day of operations, the convoy delivered essential winter items aimed at easing the suffering of families in Gaza. The shipment included more than 130,000 blankets, over 93,000 pieces of winter clothing, around 400 mattresses, and 3,150 tents to support displaced individuals. The effort aligns with Egypt’s broader humanitarian commitment to providing continuous relief for civilians in Gaza.
The Egyptian Red Crescent also supplied over 11,000 tons of emergency aid, which comprised more than 7,000 tons of food baskets and flour, approximately 2,700 tons of medical and critical relief supplies, and over 1,300 tons of fuel products needed across the sector.
The “Zad Al-Ezzah” campaign, first launched on July 27, has delivered thousands of tons of aid ranging from food supplies and flour to infant formula, medical equipment, medicines, personal care items, and fuel. The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a permanent presence at the border as the national body responsible for coordinating aid flows into Gaza.
The Rafah crossing from the Egyptian side has not been fully closed during the crisis, allowing the organization to continue operating through its logistical centers. To date, more than half a million tons of humanitarian assistance and relief materials have reached Gaza through the efforts of 35,000 volunteers working across the Egyptian Red Crescent.
