A Sports and Cultural Exchange Week between China and Russia was held in the city of Hegang, Heilongjiang Province. This was reported by Dongbeiwang, a partner of TV BRICS.
As part of the event, demonstration tournaments in taekwondo, kickboxing and karate were organised. The competitions brought together around 300 young athletes aged from 5 to 18, representing 30 teams from eight cities in Russia and China.
The Russian delegation included athletes from Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The Chinese side was represented by students of sports schools from cities in Heilongjiang Province such as Qitaihe and Shuangyashan.
Chairman of the Far Eastern Karate Association of Russia Stanislav Vinokurov thanked the organisers for hosting the event, noting that this was not the first visit of the Russian delegation to Hegang – athletes have repeatedly taken part in competitions in this city.
In addition to an extensive sports programme, the organisers prepared a variety of cultural events for participants and guests. They had the opportunity to admire the natural beauty of Hegang and to gain a deeper understanding of the traditional cultures of Russia and China.
