Cairo: Silta – Ashraf Gaber – Egypt’s State Information Services (SIS) has announced a landmark initiative reflecting President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s ongoing commitment to advancing international media transparency. The announcement, made by Diaa Rashwan, Chairman of the General Information Authority, underscores efforts to expand professional opportunities for accredited foreign correspondents operating in Egypt, enabling direct access to verified, official information sources and comprehensive coverage of Egypt’s domestic developments and international positioning.

This initiative represents the Authority’s commitment to implementing presidential directives, following a series of organized sessions and multi-level events engaging hundreds of foreign correspondents. Past engagements included participation in official functions and specialized forums with senior officials and domain experts across sectors.

A Monthly Dialogue

Effective 2026, the Authority has established a regular series under the banner “Meet the Foreign Media,” creating a direct, public platform for dialogue between senior ministers, specialist officials, and international journalists. The monthly forums provide substantive exploration of Egypt’s policy developments and strategic initiatives across all dimensions.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Opens the Series in January

The inaugural session is scheduled for mid-January 2026, featuring Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs. The forum will examine the strategic pillars of Egypt’s foreign policy across priority sectors, the foundational principles governing its regional and international engagement, and Egypt’s official positions on key contemporary issues, with dedicated time for questions from resident foreign correspondents.

The Authority’s Foreign Press Center will manage invitations and registration procedures in accordance with international standards.
