His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, visited the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. During his tour, His Highness inspected the pavilion’s facilities and corridors, which feature an innovative architectural vision and a sustainable structure comprising 90 columns, each 16 meters tall, with a design inspired by palm trees and their historical and heritage symbolism.
The columns were made from reusing more than two million palm fronds, emphasizing the concept of sustainable use and revitalization of natural materials. The pavilion also includes thematic areas that showcase the UAE’s journey in space exploration, the innovation system in the healthcare and medical sciences sector, and the latest sustainable technologies. His Highness met with the team supervising the pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, praising the efforts of national talent in building bridges of cultural communication with various peoples and cultures.
The pavilion offers a window to the world to witness national achievements that reflect the UAE’s pride in its ancient heritage and draw inspiration from the authenticity of its culture and civilizational legacy in its ambitious aspirations for the future. His Highness affirmed that returning to the Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan, 55 years after its first participation in 1970, carries symbolic significance and strategic importance, as this participation bears witness to more than five decades of close cooperation and strong strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and Japan in various fields of mutual interest.
The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is participating under the theme “From Earth to Ether” within the “Enabling Life” zone on the artificial island of Yumichaelia, built specifically for the Expo. The expo will open its doors to the public from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The theme is “Designing a Future Society for Our Lives,” with a record 158 countries participating, including leading international organizations and Japanese companies and institutions across several strategic sectors.
Since its opening last April, the UAE Pavilion has hosted a variety of events, performances, and cultural activities, including expert panel discussions, cultural performances, creative workshops, live Emirati culinary demonstrations, exhibitions by Emirati artists, and joint dialogues. This experience blends authentic heritage with the spirit of innovation to promote cultural rapprochement between countries around the world by supporting the values of civilized dialogue. Visitors to the UAE pavilion at the exhibition will be welcomed by a group of 46 young ambassadors, including 24 Emirati youth. They will accompany guests on a journey to discover the UAE’s rich heritage and authentic national traditions, as well as the country’s achievements over more than 50 years.
