A community-focused Gender-Based Violence (GBV) March will be held on 26 November, starting at 14:00 PM from Minewaste Solutions. The march forms part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness, strengthen community involvement, and stand firmly against GBV and femicide.

Before the march begins, participants will take part in a candlelight moment to honour victims and survivors of GBV. This will serve as a reflective and unifying start to the programme.

From Minewaste Solutions, community members will march together to Lajady Park, where the main programme will take place. Activities planned for the event include:
• Motivational talks aimed at empowering the community and addressing the impact of GBV
• Awareness sessions on GBV and femicide, including the importance of reporting and support
• Community engagement to encourage open conversation and collective responsibility
• Distribution of educational pamphlets to provide information on GBV, available assistance, and preventative measures

This march is a collaboration between Harmony Women in Mining and Spiritual Crime Prevention Stilfontein, demonstrating a united commitment to creating safer communities.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend, participate, and support this important initiative, as collective action remains essential in the fight against Gender-Based Violence.
