President El-Sisi Affirms Egypt’s Full Support and Solidarity With Oman

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi paid a fraternal visit to Oman, on Thursday during which he met with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman. The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that Sultan Haitham bin Tariq received the President upon his arrival at the Royal Private Airport in Muscat, coming from the United Arab Emirates.

Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman, and members of the Egyptian Embassy in Muscat were also present. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson, explained that the two leaders held an expanded meeting with the participation of delegations from both countries, followed by a closed bilateral meeting, and then a working dinner in honor of the President.

During the talks, the President reiterated Egypt’s full support and solidarity with the sisterly Sultanate of Oman in light of current regional developments, emphasizing Egypt’s commitment to preserving the stability of the Sultanate and the Arab states, and safeguarding their sovereignty, security, and the well-being of their people.

The official spokesperson added that Sultan Haitham bin Tariq welcomed the President’s visit, emphasizing the deep historical and close ties that bind Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, and the bonds of affection and brotherhood that unite the two brotherly peoples.

The talks also addressed the latest regional developments, with both leaders stressing the importance of supporting efforts aimed at resolving the current crisis in the region through negotiations, containing tensions, and preventing escalation to spare the region further instability and the dire consequences that would affect everyone.

In this context, the President affirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of any threat to the security and sovereignty of Arab states, considering their security an integral part of Egyptian national security, and emphasizing the unity of the shared Arab destiny.

For his part, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast position and its continued support for the security and stability of Arab states, commending Egypt’s active role in efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. The official spokesperson also explained that the talks addressed bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman.

Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the excellent level of relations between the two countries and agreed to continue joint efforts to elevate them to broader horizons, reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the two peoples. At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bid farewell to the President at the Royal Private Airport in Muscat upon his departure back to Egypt.
