Cabinet Approves Foreign Branch at Capital University Offering Spanish and American Programs

As part of its expansion strategy and efforts to strengthen international academic partnerships, President of Capital University Dr. El-Sayed Kandil announced that the Cabinet has approved the establishment of a foreign branch within the private Capital University, offering Spanish and American academic programs. The new branch is scheduled to begin admitting students in the 2026–2027 academic year.

Dr. Kandil stated that the branch will offer programs in medicine, engineering, nutrition, and management, in line with the state’s plan to internationalize higher education and provide students with access to world-class academic systems within Egyptian universities. He also highlighted ongoing coordination with Democritus University of Technology in Greece (DUTH), noting that a university delegation recently visited Greece to discuss a proposed framework for academic cooperation and faculty exchange. Discussions are being held in coordination with Greek Minister of Education Sofia Zacharaki, Deputy Minister for Higher Education Nikos Papaioannou, and senior university officials.

According to Dr. Kandil, the planned Greek branch at Capital University will include programs in physical education, agriculture, veterinary medicine, special needs therapy, and sports rehabilitation. He emphasized that the project represents a shared international attraction for students seeking high-quality education in Egypt. Meanwhile, Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, described the establishment of foreign branches at Capital University as a qualitative leap in scientific research and postgraduate education. He noted that the new programs will open broad opportunities for international collaboration in scientific publishing and joint research projects.

Abu El-Dahab added that the university aims to develop globally competitive graduates and provide a modern educational environment that supports innovation and the development of scientific solutions to societal challenges. He further stressed that cooperation with European and American universities will include student and faculty exchange programs, ensuring knowledge transfer and expertise sharing, and positioning Capital University as a regional hub for advanced education and scientific research.
