International relations expert Tarek El-Bardisi said Egypt has once again demonstrated that it is a cornerstone of stability in the Gaza Strip, coinciding with the launch of the second phase of the peace agreement. He stressed that Egypt’s role is rooted in its historical responsibility toward the Palestinian cause.

El-Bardisi explained that Cairo has successfully combined diplomatic pressure with practical efforts on the ground to ensure all parties adhere to the terms of the agreement, particularly those related to maintaining the ceasefire and facilitating the smooth and uninterrupted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

He noted that the second phase of the agreement constitutes a real test of the international community’s commitment, adding that Egypt is operating on multiple fronts to prevent the deal from being undermined. This includes close coordination with the United Nations and ongoing communication with influential international powers.

The expert emphasized that the continued flow of Egyptian aid convoys into the Gaza Strip reflects a tangible and practical commitment, rather than mere political rhetoric. He pointed out that the aid includes food, medicines, and medical supplies, in light of the extremely challenging humanitarian conditions facing the population.

El-Bardisi concluded by stressing that Egypt’s approach is inseparable from a comprehensive political solution, arguing that consolidating the truce should serve as a gateway to reviving the peace process in a manner that safeguards Palestinian rights and prevents the recurrence of cycles of violence that threaten regional security and stability.
