Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, issued a reassuring and encouraging statement to wheat farmers across Egypt, confirming that this winter’s climatic conditions are highly favorable for achieving the maximum expected yield of the crop.
Dr. Fahim emphasized that reaching these high yield levels depends largely on farmers’ commitment to the agricultural recommendations issued by the relevant authorities. “This winter is exceptionally promising for wheat farmers and offers the potential for the highest expected yields, provided that all issued recommendations are carefully followed,” he said. This optimism is based on detailed climatic assessments indicating the availability of ideal conditions throughout the various stages of wheat growth.
These conditions include the required chilling periods necessary for proper tillering and heading, which contribute to the development of well-filled grains and increased thousand-grain weight, key factors in boosting overall yield per square meter. The Ministry of Agriculture also urged farmers to closely monitor weather forecasts and agricultural extension updates to fully benefit from the favorable conditions and to mitigate any potential adverse effects that may arise during the growing season.
