The meeting was attended by Tanzanian Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Palamagamba Kabudi.

At the beginning of the talks, Abdelatty extended his congratulations to his Tanzanian counterpart on the re-election of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan for a second term. He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue close cooperation with the Tanzanian leadership in order to further elevate bilateral relations in a way that serves the prosperity and well-being of the peoples of both countries. Abdelatty underlined the growing momentum in Egyptian–Tanzanian relations and the shared commitment to strengthening political dialogue and consultation to expand cooperation into broader horizons.

He also highlighted the increasing interest of Egyptian businessmen and investors in the Tanzanian market, as evidenced by successive visits of Egyptian economic, investment, and trade delegations, as well as the growing number of Egyptian companies operating in Tanzania. He stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and expanding Egyptian investments in infrastructure and major national projects, including port development and expansion, road networks, and other strategic projects.

The foreign minister reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to continue providing technical support and capacity-building assistance to Tanzania in various sectors through the organization of specialized training programs in priority areas. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation on African issues, particularly with regard to the institutional reform of African Union bodies, viewing such reform as a fundamental pillar for enhancing their efficiency and enabling them to effectively fulfill their mandates.

They stressed that the reform process should be conducted in a systematic, gradual, transparent, and inclusive way, with the participation of all member states. Shifting to water security, Abdelaaty stressed the importance of cooperation and integration among Nile Basin countries to achieve mutual benefit and shared interests. He stressed the need to uphold the spirit of consensus and fraternity among Southern Nile Basin countries to restore inclusivity within the Nile Basin Initiative, while rejecting unilateral actions in the Eastern Nile Basin.

The minister welcomed the steps taken within the consultative process approved by the Nile Basin Council of Ministers (Nile-COM) to restore inclusivity and consensus and to advance development projects that serve shared interests in accordance with international law, while safeguarding the rights and interests of all Nile Basin states. The two ministers also exchanged views on regional developments in the African continent and discussed ways to promote stability, security, and sustainable development. They agreed to continue coordination and consultation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels to advance shared interests.
