On 20 November 2025, Warrant Officer Mokoena stood out among his peers when he was named “Man of the Year” at the Provincial Excellence Awards, taking first place in a highly competitive category. He balances operational responsibilities – ranging from effective arrests to diligent court work – with meaningful community engagement, often stepping in even while on leave. His professionalism, integrity, and adherence to the organizational code of conduct have earned him respect from colleagues, magistrates, and the public alike, with provincial and national inspections reporting no negative findings.

His recognition continued later that month. On 26 November, during the GBV March, SANPARK honored him for consistently including their organization in awareness campaigns, particularly those aimed at combating substance abuse. They praised his commitment to ensuring no stakeholder is left behind.
The following day, on 27 November, the Trauma Chaplaincy added their voice of appreciation, acknowledging his consistent involvement in community programs and his proactive approach to serving and protecting the public.
