UAE Aid Ship Set Sail with 2,500 Tons of Food, Shelter, Medical Supplies to Help Afghan

The UAE aid ship set sail today for Gwadar Port in Pakistan, in preparation for its land transfer to Afghanistan to provide relief to the Afghan people. The ship carries 2,500 tons of food, shelter, and medical supplies, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

This comes as part of the UAE’s relief effort to support the friendly Afghan people following the earthquake that struck the eastern regions of the country. The Joint Operations Command confirmed that the ship was equipped in cooperation with the Emirates Agency for International Aid, with the participation of several UAE-based charitable and humanitarian organizations, institutions, and associations. This reflects the concerted national efforts and integrated roles of various stakeholders in providing urgent relief support to Afghanistan.
