Tunisian authorities announced they will ease entry visa procedures for certain categories of Egyptian citizens starting January 15, allowing eligible travelers to obtain visas upon arrival at Tunisian border crossings, subject to specific conditions.

In a statement, the Embassy of Tunisia in Cairo said the measure applies to researchers, university professors, doctors, and senior state officials holding positions no lower than director level. The profession must be stated in the passport and supported by an official employment certificate to be presented upon arrival in Tunisia. The decision also applies to spouses and children of Tunisian-Egyptian marriages, subject to the submission of documents proving marriage to a Tunisian national.

Regarding Egyptian citizens traveling to Tunisia as part of tourist groups exceeding 10 people, the embassy clarified that Tunisian security authorities must be notified in advance with nominal lists of visa applicants, accompanied by all required documents. These include prepaid hotel reservations (vouchers), return tickets matching the hotel booking period, copies of valid passports, and a detailed travel itinerary from arrival until departure. The embassy noted that, in such cases, prior security approval must be obtained through Tunisian travel agencies accredited by the Ministry of Tourism.
