Building on previous donations from Sweden and the UK, Saab-made Arthur counter-battery radars will support Ukraine in detecting and targeting enemy artillery.
Under the package, Stockholm will also provide financial support through a Danish-led initiative, potentially funding 155mm ammunition or Bohdana artillery production.
Moreover, the Scandinavian country will participate in the artillery coalition of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
The initiative supports developing Ukraine’s artillery capacity to enhance interoperability with NATO.
“Ukraine is in urgent need of artillery and artillery ammunition. This has been a priority for Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion,” Sweden’s Minister of Defense Pål Jonson said.
Since the outbreak of the war, Sweden has been providing military aid to Kyiv in coordination with other European and NATO allies.
Last month, Stockholm pledged a military aid package valued at 1.2 billion kronor ($113 million), including RBS 70 NG man-portable air-defense system and Tridon Mk2 anti-aircraft artillery guns.
Emphasizing its support for Kyiv, the Scandinavian country authorized Ukraine to use Swedish weapons for strikes inside Russia in May last year.
