Five teams have now qualified for The World Games 2025 from the Men’s 2024 World Floorball Championships in Malmö, Sweden. The Philippines qualified already before and as the quarter-finals are now over we have four more teams joining them for Chengdu, China next year.
Sweden were the first to qualify for The World Games after winning an exciting quarterfinal against Germany, final score 5-2. Sweden have won the past two TWG events, where floorball has been an official sport and they will be chasing their third TWG gold in Chengdu.
Czechia also managed to secure their spot in TWG 2025 after winning the quarterfinal against Slovakia. Their final placement in the 2022 TWG was third place and now they will get a chance to improve that result next year.
Latvia made history by breaking into the Top 4 in Malmö and making sure fifth place is not in their radar anymore. They got more reasons to celebrate after they also secured their tickets to China. At TWG 2022, they drew against Sweden and won against Switzerland. In the end, they finished fourth but 2025 will give them a new chance for a better result.
Finland got the second last spot in TWG 2025 after winning their quarter-final against Norway. Back in 2022, Finland played in the final against Sweden and took home the silver medals.
