Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration, Serhiy Boiev, met with Johan Axelsson, the Director of the Test and Evaluation Department at the Swedish government procurement agency FMV.

Serhiy Boiev emphasized that regular visits by the Swedish delegation are a positive sign of the growing cooperation and partnership between the two countries. During this meeting, the parties agreed to develop a bilateral agreement to support the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry and discussed specific proposals for their creation, including a list of priority products to be produced.

Johan Axelsson, in turn, shared that a positive decision from the Swedish government on a new military aid package for Ukraine is expected soon, which will be the largest since Russia’s full-scale invasion. In addition to providing weaponry, the package will include investments in Ukrainian defense production, particularly to increase long-range capabilities.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian and Swedish sides agreed on the details of contracts for the production of armored vehicles, including Swedish CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles. Plans are in place to establish a partnership for the maintenance and repair of these armored vehicles in Ukraine.

The discussions also covered the provision of reliable communication systems for battlefield operations, with Sweden offering satellite communication tools that have already proven effective.
