The service, named EN Carpatia, will start from Przemyśl in the southeastern Podkarpackie region, with the first departure scheduled for December 14. The train will leave at 17:51 local time and is due to reach Munich the next morning at 10:24, a journey of around 16 hours. The return service from Munich will depart at 18:45 and arrive in Przemyśl at 10:10.
The route will run through Rzeszów, Kraków and Katowice in southern Poland before crossing into the Czech Republic. In Bohumín, several carriages will be detached and continue to Bratislava and Budapest, while the main set travels through Vienna, Linz and Salzburg in Austria to Munich in southern Germany.
The train will operate as a EuroNight service with mandatory seat reservations and will include sleeper and couchette cars. The new overnight route will make it possible to reach the capitals of three European countries, along with Bavaria in Germany, directly from Poland without changing trains.
