Ministers of Military Production and Public Business Sector Discuss Strengthening Joint Cooperation

Mohamed Salah El-Din Mustafa, Minister of State for Military Production, received Engineer Mohamed Sheimy, Minister of Public Business Sector, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the New Capital, in the context of discussing and strengthening aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides. The Minister of State for Military Production affirmed that the meeting comes in light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to strengthen constructive cooperation among state institutions, achieve effective integration between them, and optimize the utilization of national manufacturing capabilities, thus contributing to comprehensive and sustainable development.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Military Production’s work system is integrated and unique, based on five pillars: industry, research, information systems, construction, and training. It oversees 19 companies, including 15 industrial companies, a maintenance company, an information systems company, a center of scientific and technological excellence, a construction company, a training sector, and a unified procurement sector, making it a vital component of national industry. The Minister also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Public Business Sector in supporting the national economy through its affiliated companies operating in numerous important manufacturing sectors.

Minister Mohamed Salah affirmed that the entities affiliated with the two ministries are distinguished by human expertise and manufacturing capabilities at the highest level, which paves the way for achieving a promising strategic partnership that will benefit both sides. He pointed out the readiness of the Ministry of Military Production to provide the demands of the Ministry of Public Business Sector and its affiliated companies for various raw materials and supplies with standard specifications, high quality and competitive prices through the unified procurement sector affiliated with Military Production.

It is also possible to benefit from the expertise of the Military Production Company for Maintenance, Supplies and Integrated Solutions to contribute to bringing about a qualitative leap in the technical condition, maintenance work, electromechanical installations, control and automation work, replacement and renewal of machines and production lines in the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, as well as benefiting from the expertise of Tuya Technology Company in the field of digital transformation and information systems.

For his part, Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Sheimy affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and integration with various state institutions to achieve optimal utilization of national capabilities and resources, and to contribute to building effective strategic partnerships that support the state’s plans for sustainable economic development.

He explained that the Ministry oversees six holding companies operating in vital sectors, including: the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries, the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, the Holding Company for Spinning and Weaving, the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, and the Holding Company for Construction and Development. These holding companies have 63 subsidiaries and contribute to the capital of 106 joint ventures. These companies operate in industrial, production, and service sectors, representing a fundamental pillar of support for the national economy.

Engineer Mohamed Sheimy added that the Ministry of Public Business Sector’s strategy focuses on maximizing returns on assets and optimizing the utilization of available resources and capabilities within its affiliated companies. This is achieved through increased operational efficiency, development of production infrastructure, and directing investments towards economically viable production projects that generate sustainable returns, enhance the companies’ competitiveness both locally and regionally, and boost their contribution to the national GDP.

The Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the strategic role played by the Ministry of Military Production as a cornerstone of military manufacturing in Egypt and one of the state’s most important industrial arms. This role is facilitated by leveraging the surplus production capacity of its companies to manufacture high-quality civilian products and actively participating in the implementation of national projects. He praised the distinguished manufacturing, technological, technical and human capabilities of the military production companies and units, and their ability to adhere to the specified timetables and implement projects according to the highest quality standards.

He stressed that cooperation and integration with the Ministry of Military Production represents a strategic choice to support national industry, increase reliance on local products, and maximize the benefit from available national resources in a way that contributes to achieving the common goals of the two ministries in achieving added value for the national economy and implementing priority development projects that benefit the citizen, especially in light of global economic challenges, which requires intensifying and combining efforts to enhance production capacities and support the national economy.
