Kazakhstan: Economy Grows by 6.5% in First Eight Months of 2025

According to the National Statistics Bureau, Kazakhstan’s gross domestic product increased by 6.5% in January-August 2025, the Ministry of National Economy reports. Trade grew by 8.9%, mainly due to the wholesale segment, which accounts for two-thirds of the industry. This is reported by Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.

Industry increased by 7.6%, with the manufacturing sector growing by 6.5% compared to the same period last year. The main areas of growth were: mechanical engineering (+15.1%), food production (+10.1%), oil refining (+7.6%), the chemical industry (+7.5%) and metallurgy (+1.1%). In construction, output increased by 18.1%, and in transport and warehousing by 21.5%. Agriculture showed more moderate growth of 3.4%.
