Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the necessity of coordinated international efforts to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire agreement, based on the framework proposed by US President Donald Trump.

He underlined the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803 on Gaza and deploying an international stabilization force in the Strip as part of peacekeeping measures. The remarks were made during Abdelatty’s participation in a panel discussion in Berlin organized by the German Körber-Stiftung Foundation.

The session brought together heads and representatives of leading German research centers, alongside policymakers and international affairs experts. During the discussion, the minister presented Egypt’s comprehensive vision regarding the geopolitical developments in the Middle East and reaffirmed Egypt’s firm positions on the Palestinian issue.

He reiterated support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, describing this as the only pathway to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.

Abdelatty stressed the urgent need to ensure the flow of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza’s population amid the deteriorating conditions. He also addressed regional developments in Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, and Libya, underscoring Egypt’s efforts to support stability, uphold state sovereignty, preserve territorial integrity, and reinforce national institutions.

The minister further outlined Egypt’s stance on water security and developments in the Nile Basin, rejecting unilateral measures that contravene international law, and affirmed that Egypt will take all necessary steps to safeguard its water security in accordance with legal norms. The session concluded with an open discussion on enhancing international cooperation and supporting stability in the Middle East.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to a constructive role, fostering collaboration among countries and promoting comprehensive approaches to resolving regional crises in line with international law principles.
