Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, will pay working visits to Denmark, Luxembourg, Estonia and Latvia in the coming days. During them, he will have meetings with officials and will take part in events, IPN reports.
The first visit will take place on May 12-13to Denmark, where Minister Popșoi is scheduled to meet with his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen and members of the Danish Parliament.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister will participate in the Copenhagen Democracy Summit, where he will speak on a panel. He will also will have a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in Denmark.
On May 14, in Luxembourg, Minister Popșoi will participate in the 134th Ministerial Session of the Council of Europe (MS of the CoE), organized in the context of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the CoE.
The agenda of the 134th session will focus on assessing progress in the implementation of the Reykjavík Declaration, adopted at the fourth Summit of Heads of State in 2023, in particular with regard to the Council of Europe’s support for Ukraine. Also, the official opening of the signing of the new Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer will take place.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Mihai Popșoi will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium Maxime Prévot.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s program also includes a trilateral meeting between the Republic of Moldova, Monaco and Montenegro, given that these countries will take over the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the CoE.
On May 16-18, Minister Mihai Popsoi will pay a working visit to Tallinn, the Republic of Estonia. The agenda of the visit includes a discussion with his counterpart Margus Tsahkna.
Also, Minister Popsoi will have meetings with officials of the Estonian Parliament and will participate in the Lennart Meri Conference, where he will speak on a high-level panel dedicated to European security in a new world order based on spheres of influence.
On May 19-20, the Moldovan foreign minister will pay a working visit to Latvia. He will have a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia Baiba Braže. Subsequently, the two ministers will hold a press conference.
The program of the visit also includes meetings with members of the Parliament (Saeima) of Latvia, including representatives of the committees on foreign affairs and European affairs, as well as with members of the Parliamentary Group for Promoting Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Also, the Moldovan official will have talks with the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia Atis Švinka.
