China has begun exporting fresh-cut flowers to Russia for the first time via the Manzhouli air checkpoint in northern China. A shipment of 400 flowers weighing 30 kilograms was successfully sent this week, according to a statement from the Manzhouli municipal government. The delivery marks the first time such products have been exported through this border crossing, reports Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Given the strict freshness requirements for cut flowers, customs officers at Manzhouli airport introduced special measures to speed up processing. These included advisory services for the exporting company and the creation of a “green channel” to ensure efficient clearance for the perishable cargo.
Local authorities said the successful export has further diversified the range of goods traded through the Manzhouli air checkpoint. It has also provided valuable experience in handling high-value, short-shelf-life agricultural products, giving fresh impetus to the high-quality development of the region’s foreign trade.
