Vietnam attracted almost 14 million international visitors between January and August 2025, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%, according to the National Statistics Office. This is reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS. In August alone, arrivals reached 1.68 million, up 7.8% from July. Tourism revenue for the eight months was estimated at US$2.32 billion, up 20.3%.

Air travel continued to dominate with 11.9 million visitors, or 85.2% of the total, up 22.6% year-on-year. Land arrivals reached 1.9 million, while 187,800 visitors arrived by sea. China remained the largest source market with over 3.5 million arrivals (25.4%). Key markets also included Cambodia, India, Russia, Malaysia, and others.

More than 387,000 Indian visitors arrived in the first seven months of 2025, up 42.5% compared to the same period last year, following a record 501,427 arrivals in 2024 – nearly triple the pre-pandemic figure in 2019. Vietnam’s extended e-visa policy, which allows single or multiple entries for up to 90 days, together with more direct flights and a safe travel environment, is expected to further boost inbound arrivals, particularly from India.
